Walter Hering GmbH & Co. KG

Founded in 1936 as Walter Hering KG by Walter Hering, the company started as a trading business for wire ropes, ropes, and tarpaulins.

Headquartered in Caffamacherreihe in downtown Hamburg.

1962 – The company moved to its first own building in Gotenstraße with expanded warehouse and production areas for wire ropes, ropes, and tarpaulins.

1982 – The current company headquarters in Hamburg-Billbrook was established by the second generation: the three children of the company founder, Günther, Uwe, and Christa. This was a major step that laid the foundation for today’s business.

1988 and 1997 – Expansion of the premises and hall spaces, including for the testing of ship anchors. The company was solely managed by Günther Hering, who significantly shaped and developed the business.

2004 – In the third generation, Günther Hering’s daughter, Monique Boßmann, took over the management of the company and further developed it with modern manufacturing and logistics solutions to meet the needs of today’s customers.

2009 – Seil Hering was certified by LRQA according to ISO 9001:2008.

Since 2023, the company has been part of the Unitex Group.
